Jo made her debut on Page 3 in 1998 after entering a Sun Baywatch lookalikes competition. She said: 'I had never done any modelling at all. I left school after my GCSEs and started working for Britvic in customer services. 'For the competition they made me up to look like Pamela Anderson and the photographer said I should contact an agency.' She did and began doing Page 3 almost straight away. Jo says her parents Peter and Christine - both former hoteliers - her three sisters and brother are all proud of her career. At the beginning of her career, she said: 'My dad is a bit protective and goes around making jokes about how he hadn't seen me naked since I was five and now he sees me all over the papers. 'But he's very supportive. So is my mum and my brother is always getting me to autograph stuff for his mates.' Legendary Page 3 snapper, Beverley Goodway, even voted Jo as his fifth favourite Page 3 girl ever – not bad considering he was our lensman for 35 years! He said: “She has an angular face which makes her great to photograph. There's a lovely serene quality about her. She has a classy, polished look and the air of a fashion model.” These days, Jo's on the other side of the camera and works as a professional make-up artist to the new breed of models, all hungry to learn from her vast experience.
